The Green Deal Projects Support Office is hosting a "Storytelling Deep Dive" training session on Thursday, July 4, from 11:00 to 13:00 CEST via Zoom. This workshop aims to enhance practical storytelling skills for communicating project research and results.
REST-COAST, as part of the Green Deal Restoration Cluster of the European Commission along with WaterLANDS, Superb, and MERLIN, recognises the importance of this workshop. Effective storytelling is essential for disseminating information and raising awareness about our initiatives.
Participants in the workshop will use tools and frameworks from a previous session to craft three versions of a story about their project. The fast-paced, hands-on session includes solo work, small group feedback, and group discussions. By the end, attendees will have at least one draft story adaptable for various channels, including social media, blogs, press releases, case studies, and video scripts.
This session focuses on:
- Building storytelling skills using simple frameworks.
- Adapting stories for different channels and audiences.
Ideal for those looking to improve their storytelling skills, the workshop will be led by Suzanne Whitby of SciComm Success, an expert in storytelling for sustainable thinking and behaviour. Interested participants should bring ideas for an aspect of their research or project to work on. Detailed notes, templates, and ideas from the workshop will be available to all attendees.
