Recent press release highlights the final meeting of the REST-COAST project and its achievements
The leading science communication platforms EurekAlert! and AlphaGalileo have published a press release announcing the REST-COAST project’s final consortium meeting, held from 2 to 5 February 2026 in Barcelona, Spain.
The press release spotlights the main project results achieved after nearly five years of collaborative work, demonstrating how nature-based solutions (NbS), operational tools, and governance approaches developed within REST-COAST support coastal risk reduction, ecosystem restoration, and evidence-based decision-making across Europe.
The press announcement covers several innovations presented during the meeting, as well as the MyREST-COAST mobile application and the Coastal Challenge serious game, which were showcased as interactive tools to engage stakeholders and raise awareness of coastal restoration and climate adaptation.
As REST-COAST approaches its conclusion in May 2026, the project will consolidate its legacy by publishing a dedicated project book summarising its scientific, financial, and governance achievements. Partners will also continue supporting dissemination activities and engaging in key research, policy events, and Coastal Restoration Platforms to ensure the long-term impact of the project’s results.
