The Ocean Sciences meeting was held between 18 and 23 February 2024 in News Orleans, Louisiana. Organised every 2 years, the meeting gathers representatives of the oceans community to share findings, connect scientists from around the world, and enhance the impact of science.
The Ocean Sciences Meeting 2024 was co-sponsored by the American Geophysical Union, the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO), and The Oceanography Society (TOS). Through the combined power of these three organisations, affiliated partners, and working with the broader conservation-focused community, this meeting provided attendees the opportunity to bridge disciplines, connect communities, and make lasting partnerships.
Attended by more than 6000 participants, the event served as a platform for collaboration and intensive discussions across various disciplines. Amongst the attendees was REST-COAST member Lieke Hüsken from Deltares, who presented the project and more specifically the Ebro Delta pilot. The audience was especially interested in the project's dimensions of upscaling and the integration of various disciplines to support decision making, and the overall restoration actions implemented by REST-COAST.
