Mediterranean Geosciences Union (MedGU)
REST-COAST at MedGU-24 in Barcelona
REST-COAST research was presented at MedGU-24, held from 25 to 28 November 2024 in Barcelona, Spain. The international geosciences conference brought together researchers from around the world to share the latest studies and developments across Earth and planetary sciences, while promoting scientific cooperation and collaboration within the Mediterranean region and beyond.
As part of the scientific programme, REST-COAST partners contributed several presentations related to coastal processes, sediment dynamics and ecosystem management, including:
“Assessing the effects of cyclones on Longshore Sediment Transport along the coast of Mozambique”, followed by “Posidonia oceanica Banquettes: Understanding the characterisation parameters for improved beach management in the Mediterranean coast” and “Uncertainty of the bed mobility estimated from oceanographic services. The case of the Ebro continental shelf”.
The presentations highlighted REST-COAST research supporting coastal resilience, sustainable sediment management and nature-based approaches for coastal adaptation and restoration.
