REST-COAST at SCACR 2025 in Dubrovnik

REST-COAST research was presented at the 11th Short Course / Conference on Applied Coastal Research (SCACR 2025), held from 24 to 26 September 2025 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The conference brought together researchers, engineers and coastal management experts to exchange knowledge on the latest advances in coastal and port engineering, coastal adaptation and marine research.

As part of the scientific programme, REST-COAST partners presented the contribution “An Early Warning System for coastal flood prediction using hydrodynamic modelling and artificial intelligence”.

The presentation highlighted research on coastal flood forecasting, hydrodynamic modelling and AI-supported early warning systems developed to strengthen coastal resilience and climate adaptation.

REST-COAST results were also showcased during the Lectio Magistralis “Coastal adaptation by combining conventional and nature-based solutions”, delivered by Prof. Agustín Sánchez-Arcilla (UPC). The lecture focused on approaches for sustainable coastal adaptation and the integration of nature-based solutions in coastal management and restoration.
