The REST-COAST project took part in the 14th European Conference on Ecological Restoration (SERE2024), held in Tartu, Estonia, during the last week of August 2024. Organised by the European Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration, SERE2024 gathered leading experts in ecological restoration to address the pressing challenges posed by biodiversity loss and degraded ecosystems across Europe.
Representatives from the Green Deal Cluster projects, including MERLIN, WaterLANDS, and SUPERB, were also present at the conference. Together with them, REST-COAST hosted a dedicated session titled "Strategies for Restoring at Landscape Scale," where participants explored large-scale, integrated approaches to ecosystem restoration in alignment with the EU's Nature Restoration Law.
REST-COAST was further highlighted with an exhibition booth, where members of the project team from Pensoft Publishers showcased the project through various promotional materials. The booth became a hub for fruitful conversations, allowing participants to engage with the REST-COAST team, discuss project insights, and exchange ideas on advancing the goals of ecological restoration across Europe.
