On March 13 2024, the REST-COAST partners from IUCN in joint collaboration between the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation and the European Regional Office, held yet another very successful online session "EU Nature Restoration Law Webinar". The event was organised as part of the activities within WP5 Transformative governance and restoration upscaling, led by IUCN.
This internal webinar aimed to provide REST-COAST participants with a comprehensive understanding to the EU Nature Restoration Law (NRL) by discussing the key aspects of the legislation as well as what it means particularly in the case of the REST-COAST project, highlighting its pivotal role for the collective endeavours developed within the framework of the project.

Over 40 participants from across the project consortium took part in the event. The first part of the event focused on framing the webinar within the WP5 tasks and presenting the EU Nature Restoration Law and its key components. The second part of the webinar was dedicated to an open discussion session on how REST-COAST can contribute to the implementation of the NRL for upscaling coastal restoration, with the aim of translating the discussion into tangible actions that can serve as potential recommendations for Pilot Sites.
