The NBS Task Forces Cluster Meeting and NetworkNature Annual Event 2024, held on 24-25 September in Brussels, Belgium, gathered around 200 participants from across Europe to discuss and advance Nature-based Solutions (NBS). The event provided a platform for EU project representatives to collaborate through a mix of plenary sessions and workshops, with the goal of fostering cross-project cooperation and the development of new ideas. Participants engaged in Networking Tables, where they explored potential project proposals for future funding, emphasizing innovative approaches in various fields of NBS.
Umberto Pernice (PCI), leader of the task on business plans for scaling up NBS restoration and a member of Task Force 3 on Business Plan and Finance, played an active role in these discussions. He contributed to the Networking Tables by focusing on business model innovations that could drive the implementation of NBS. REST-COAST, represented by Pernice, also shared its findings on business planning and finance strategies, further strengthening the collaborative efforts of multiple EU projects involved in NBS.
The event was particularly significant for REST-COAST as it provided an opportunity to participate in the development of Taskforce 3's upcoming publication on Nature-based Solutions within a nature-positive economy. By aligning their findings with other EU projects, REST-COAST aimed to enhance the visibility of their work and explore potential collaborations that could lead to further innovation and scaling of NBS efforts.
